Can Kings XI Punjab post a win or can Mumbai Indians post a win. Whoever will lose they will go bottom of the point table. Guys pull up your socks and get ready to Rumble, will Sachin play or not. He will be the major factor.
Mumbai and Mohali have played two matches apiece and ended up on the losing side on both occasions. While Mumbai have been involved in two close encounters, Mohali were beaten quite comprehensively in both their games. With both teams seeking their opening win, it's going to be a battle of equals.
Should Tendulkar be fit, we'll be able to witness an intriguing duel between him and Brett Lee. Lee got the better of him in the CB series, well at least until the finals. In case Sachin is unfit for today's game, the two Punjab players Harbhajan and Yuvraj will lock horns in a battle of wits. Both are inexperienced, still searching for their first win and it will make for an interesting contest.
The fog over Tendulkar's injury has not lifted as yet. In their last clash against the Superkings, Harbhajan did mention that Tendulkar will be available for Mohali but it is still unclear if he will play. Thornley is still unfit after he copped a nasty bouncer from Zaheer and received fifteen stitches on the eyebrow. Mohali have been bolstered by the arrival of Ramnaresh Sarwan and Yuvraj has a full strength team to choose from.
James Hopes has got Mohali off to great starts in their previous games but got out at crucial moments. He's due for a big knock today. Extremely handy with the ball as well.
For Mumbai, Abhishek Nayar has been the most impressive. His 45 off 20 took Mumbai agonizingly close to victory the other night. He is likely to be promoted up the order. Sanath Jayasuriya has looked in good touch too but he's thrown away good starts with poor shots. Mumbai need him and Ronchi to fire at the top.
Despite it being close to 40 degrees in the afternoons, the evenings are expected to be pleasant with a humidity of 37% and a cool breeze blowing across the ground, nowhere near as torrid as Chennai. The pitch being used today is not the same as that on which Mike Hussey scored a century, but it's expected to have even pace and bounce. A run-feast.
