Rain and wind drives Super Kings much closer to semi-final slot with this win over Knight Riders. Dust Storm! with rain in Kolkata made it impossible to play to continue. Chennai won by 3 runs ahead of the D/L par score at this point.
Kolkata Knight Riders won the toss and Elected to bat. Salman Butt and Mohammad Hafeez made a good start for Kolkata Knight Riders. Mohammad Hafeez was cought by Manpreet Gony when the teams score was 14.
Sourav Ganguly and David Hussey were unable to stand against the bowling of Chennai Super Kings. David Hussey was out at duck and Sourav Ganguly at 3 scores. Salman Butt was the highest scorer of Kolkata Knight Riders, he sored 73 runs. At the end of their innings the team socred 149/5 in 20 overs.
Makhaya Ntini is the Man of the Match for his 4 for 21 which included a hat-trick. It was a disjointed hat-trick. He accounted for Ganguly off the last ball of his first spell and later returned to clean up Das and Hussey off the first two balls off his next spell. All three were bowled and fittingly, he managed to knock down each of the three stumps.
Dinda taken the catch, things would have been different. The four from Fleming struck off the following ball too assumes significance, which helped Chennai Super Kings to win. More than that, Knight Riders batting is not clicking at all. Because of Salman Butt's only batting they reach to 149 runs. Things are going down and Akhar is not performed as per he was suppose to perform, In his first over itself is a tired man and his body language was very low and down, no sound from the crowds too. Now if they want to get a semi-final slot they have to win last 3 matches with good runrate and hope that other closest team lose few matches.
