Match No. 46th Result. Chennai Super Kings v Bangalore Royal Challengers
Bangalore Royal Challengers won the match by 14 runs. They were ordinary with the bat to say the least but they came back strongly with the ball to script one of the most memorable turnarounds of this tournament.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni and his boys never looked charged up during their run chase. They probably were a touch over confident and casual throughout and as a result, they have been made to taste defeat. Chennai will have to think hard now and regroup well. This has been a shameful loss really. Dropping the guard at any point in time is just not acceptable.
Rahul Dravid's reactions after that win said it all. He was all smiles and charged up. He has been in the firing line after his team's poor show and this big win would certainly give him some respite. The fact that they have caused an upset this evening would be rated as one of the best bowling performances of the tournament. One can't take any credit away from the Bangalore side for the reason that they hung in there all the time even when Chennai was going strong with Fleming out there in the middle. Terrific efforts really. Kudos to Dravid and his boys!
Anil Kumble is the Man of the Match for his disciplined bowling spell of 3 for 14 from his 4 overs. He tied down the opposition just when it mattered the most. Stephen Fleming bags the DLF Maximum Sixes award.
