Match No. 53rd Result. Rajasthan Royals v Mumbai Indians

No one can ask for a better match than what happened today. Mumbai were deperate to win todays match and Royals were in no mood to let them win and stop the winning streak.

The match ended on the last bowl when Royals needed 3 runs to win a match.Dilhara bowled a wide and it was 2 runs needed from 1 ball. Thebatsmen hit the bowl and it was a real bad fumble which helped the batsmen to complete the second score.Chasing a decent target on the pitch  which was not so batsmen friendly, Royals were not to a great start and lost wickets at regular levels.But some good small performances from the middle order made them take the match to the wire and in the end they holded on the nerves and won the match by 5 wickets.

Mumbai Indians once again fail to come up trumps in a close finish. They have now been at the suffering end for three times in such a close contest and things will now become even more tighter for the Mumbai Indians. They will be glued to their Television sets watching the Chennai game tomorrow and would hope that Chennai loses. Mumbai then will have to win their next game to qualify for the Semis.

But one would say that the Mumbai team left it too much on their fate. It all looked so well in the middle overs when they sent all the danger men back into the hut but then this young duo of Patel and Jadeja came out there in the middle and played sensibly till the very end. Just when they needed some big shots to stay in contention, both of these young men unleashed some handy strokes to take their side closer. Last ball added a lot of spice and drama and in the end, some sloppy work pegged back the Mumbai Indians in a cliff-hanger. IPL is getting better and better every evening now and this is slowly becoming a treat for all the cricket lovers.

Sohail Tanvir is the Man of the Match for his splendid bowling figures of 4 for 14 off 4 overs.

19.6 Fernando to Patel, 2 runs, fractionally short on the middle and leg, Patel looks to swat it over mid wicket, mistimes it straight back to the bowler, Fernando fumbles and they get a single, no chance for a second atleast, good throw at the bowler's end and Jadeja is nowhere close to his crease, Jayasuriya fumbles at the bowler's end, doesn't collect the ball, it's all over! Royals win this battle!
