Shahrukh giving a new look and theme song for his IPL team
Mumbaii, India - Jan 30, 2008
Shahrukh Khan is thrilled at acquiring the Kolkatta IPL (Indian Premier League) team. Shahrukh's bid was $75.09 million dollars and he acquired the Kolkatta team . Shahrukh has now already started making plans for his team. SRK has decided to give his Kolkatta team a new look with designer uniforms. He has also appointed Vishal-Shekhar to compose a song which has a lot of punch and a winner attitude. SRK is known for his dogged winning streak and no doubt he wants his team to also sport the same attitude.
Shahrukh wants his Kolkatta team to look good and hence he has appointed designer Anahita Shroff to design some new cool uniforms for his team. Anahita has designed clothes for many films like Bluffmaster, Kabhie Alvida Na Kehna, Dhoom etc. However Anahita preferred not to comment on the issue and said "Please ask Shahrukh about this. I don't want to say anything." However she did agree that SRK would take a personal interest in his team's uniforms as he was a perfectionist. SRK also met up with music composers Vishal-Shekhar and asked them to come up with a theme song for his team that would get their adrenaline flowing. Vishal confirms the news saying "Yes, we met Mr. Khan recently. We have been given about a month's time to get a tune ready for his IPL team. We've been told that the tune should be one that represents a winner."
Shahrukh was recently also awarded a medal of honour from the French government . He was honoured with the Insignia of Officer in the Order Arts and Letters by French ambassador Jerome Bonnafont at the glittering French Film Festival. SRK thanked the French government for this honour. Shahrukh is also set to star in a Pepsi commercial with newcomer Ranbir Kapoor who has made his debut in the film Saawariyaan. The two will be working together for the first time.
